This entry's gonna be short. It's late and I'm tired. =)
Got my driving permit! I don't know if I mentioned before or not, but I never could before because we had lost my original state birth certificate, and to get a new one would take another six months. But a few weeks ago, Dad did end up being able to find it, so a few days later I spent a laughably short time studying and passed the test pretty easily. It's amazing how little resistance there is to get someone on the road in America, and that scares me because I know that I, at least, shouldn't be allowed anywhere near a steering wheel. I haven't had enough driving time yet to prove that to the unsuspecting public, but oh, they'll find out soon enough, and the lax bastards at the driving center will get what's coming to them. >:D
In other news, I'm not sure if I'll ever be weaned off C on C.

Shin and Mimmi: You're telling me. I'm still putting that phone call off because I know it'll probably ruin my day. XD
Alan: Not if I don't call! >:D
Alright, kids. I've been putting this first post off for a long time now, because I know that it's got to make up for all the crap in my life that I've missed reporting on. And a whole lot has happened between my last real blog post and now. :o
So instead, I'm just going to try to update as frequently as I can with one point per post about things that have happened. This will take down the huge load of one big post, hopefully spur me into a solid posting habit right fron the get-go, and encourage me to go more in-depth into each subject. Today: cellphone.
I couldn't find our camera to take a picture of it, but here's what it looks like anyway. I got it because Dad decided that instead of a home phone at the house, we'll instead just go with cells for the both of us, an idea which I think suits us perfectly. This one, the Nokia 2865i, was the cheapest they've got, but still has everything I'd like in a phone except for a camera. I can easily live withou that, though.
What I may not be able to live without, however, is my current inability to connect the phone to my computer to transfer songs and wallpapers. I never even gave thought to the insulting idea of living with the horror of awful, paid ringtones and equally expensive and bad wallpapers from the shitty online stores, so soon after we got the phone, I went back to the Alltel store to buy a connectivity cable to my computer, and HOLY SHIT SEVENTY DOLLARS FOR A USB CORD. I kid you not. Seventy. fucking. dollars. I got out of that building like it was on fire.
Later that day, I went to the Nokia website to see how much they listed the package for, since it was bound to be cheaper than going through the service provider, and hey, I was right! They were only gonna charge me OH HOLY SHIT FIFTY DOLLARS FOR A USB CORD. So I finally got smart about it and searched the cord on Froogle, and came up with it for $10.30, including shipping. Did I buy it? You're gosh darned right I bought it. And that would make things very peachy right now, except that the official software I need to connect my phone to the compy is crap, and doesn't recognize the connection. I'm very certain it's not the cord because whenever I plug it in the hardware wizard recognizes it immediately. So I shot Nokia an email, and they told me to call their tech support line, which I'll do tomorrow if I can remember it. I'm shooting for the off chance that it won't be a total nightmare.
Still, it's an alright phone, and I'm happy to have it. =D
